The message of this book. Just Mercy will make you upset and it will make you hopeful. A searing indictment of American criminal justice and a stirring testament to the salvation that fighting for the vulnerable sometimes yields.
Searing, moving. As deeply moving, poignant and powerful a book as has been, and maybe ever can be, written about the death penalty.

Larushka Ivan-Zadeh. It's good acting at its finest in this preaching to the choir "right to life" drama that might have worked had the filmmakers chosen to show the audience a little mercy by not constantly talking down to them.
Scott Marks. What Just Mercy lacks in flashy storytelling it makes up for in its earnest examination of injustice and discrimination.
Richard Crouse. The movie is overlong, even if the scenes with the relevant characters - and the final revelations, with stirring speeches - are riveting.
Mike Massie. Jordan's subdued performance is intriguingly captivating, and Foxx finds humanity and hope within the confinement and ever-present cloud of death looming overhead.
Charles Koplinski. It's an accessible crowd pleaser with powerful drama and surprising levity and deserves a watch based on its inspirational telling of a fight for justice.
Matthew St. It's a film that is impossible to ignore and absolutely should not be ignored. Richard Propes. The film's power rests on the cast's remarkable performances.
